Tongs are essential to a blacksmith's shop -- there is always room for one more pair! This immersive one-day workshop will explore the significance of blacksmith tongs and cover the purposes of various designs. Participants will practice each step to make two fundamental types of tongs- the flat jaw and bolt tongs. This is an intermediate-level workshop: we ask that participants have a hands-on understanding of the fundamental tools and techniques of blacksmithing before they register. Class Fee: $190 - includes project material and safety equipment. Class Size: 8 Class time:  9:00 am to 4:00 pm with a one-hour break from noon to 1:00 pm for lunch. A handful of restaurants are within 6 miles or pack your meal for a picnic at Cloverdale Forge.
